IBM Japan, Ltd.
Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as DIS: Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Yoshihiro Nogami) and IBM Japan, Ltd. (hereafter referred to as IBM Japan: Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; General Manager and President: Akio Yamaguchi) have agreed to collaborate in the distribution of IBM cloud infrastructure.
Under this agreement, DIS provides IBM Cloud services in collaboration with IBM Japan. DIS has concluded a contract with IBM Japan to become a tech broker (distributor) for the Embedded Solution Agreement (ESA), which allows DIS to coordinate cloud infrastructure products and services (IBM Cloud) with solutions marketed by solution providers, and offer the results through its distribution channels. Solution providers can utilize a wide range of services available from IBM Cloud by concluding an ESA partner agreement with IBM Japan.
At the same time, DIS will participate in the IBM Partner Group, organized by partner companies equipped with unique technology of their own, and help promote collaboration between partner companies, creating new solutions and expanding sales opportunities.
In the Japanese domestic market, computing utilizing the cloud, such as SaaS and IaaS, is now the leading type of system utilization driving the growth of the market, and IaaS is estimated to surpass on-premises software as system infrastructure in 2020. In the future, it will be essential for companies in the Japanese domestic market to explore the utilization of cloud infrastructure in their system construction.
DIS supports companies' digital transformation by developing collaboration with IBM Japan and DIS partner companies across the country.
■Characteristics of IBM Cloud
IBM Cloud, which integrates infrastructure functionality, is the most suitable cloud platform for achieving innovation based on the hybrid cloud. As a business-focused cloud platform, it supports all kinds of applications currently used by companies. In addition, it not only enables the secure transition of existing systems into the cloud, but supports the development of cloud-native applications, and can be utilized for business using AI, including Watson.
