Amidst our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and fundamentally reform our business practices, which include reconsidering established customs, DIS no longer offers flowers or other gifts to commemorate company celebratory events; rather, we are, by principle, sending out congratulatory messages in lieu of such gifts. Additionally, DIS no longer sends New Year’s greeting cards (nengajō).

In conjunction with the above, a portion of the expenses previously incurred to provide flowers and other gifts, as well as New Year’s greeting cards are being channeled to donations to societal causes through our Donation Program.

In fiscal year 2019, had we continued as before, we would have spent 2,615,000 yen to send celebratory flowers, gifts and New Year’s greeting cards. DIS has matched this amount to give a total donation of 5,230,000 yen to the Japan Committee for UNICEF. 

We appreciate your kind understanding towards this shift in policy to no longer provide flowers and gifts.
