Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as DIS; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto,) has concluded a distributorship agreement for the Japanese market with Lookout, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Lookout; Head Office: State of California, USA; CEO: Jim Dolce). The two companies are beginning a collaboration to offer not only comprehensive security approaches from end-point to cloud computing but also integrated solutions that offer security to IT and security readers in Japan.

With acceleration of the spread of teleworks as a result of the  COVID-19 epidemic and the diversification of working practices, it has become impossible for existing security models to offer satisfactory risk-management measures.

According to a survey conducted by Gartner*1, remote work has already become established among 60% of knowledge workers. Additionally, news released by Zippia*2 emphasizes that 75% of employees use their own private cellphones to perform their jobs. Because many companies are now organized around allowing their employees to always work remotely, opportunities to access company applications by using mobile devices have been increasing. These devices include those that are not managed by IT departments, making it hard for organizations to be aware of, and control, all potential threats, such as the vulnerability of operating systems and applications, the kinds of applications that can access company data, and phishing attacks. Organizations therefore need to adopt a totally new approach to security to allow remote users to access their data for efficient operation.

Lookout Cloud Security Platform, the functions of which were expanded in January 2023, contains more than 212 technologies and product patents. It is the only cloud-native integrated security platform that can cope with both end-points and the cloud inclusively and can protect data wherever they are stored, such as on networks or the cloud, in applications, or on user devices. Thanks to the expansion of the platform, customers can make decisions on cloud security services on the basis of more information by utilizing threat intelligence coming from mobile end-points.

DIS delivers product solutions offered by Lookout to users nationwide through about 19,000 dealers with the help of a community-based sales system implemented from about 94 bases across Japan. It also helps to provide value-added services, including technological support. By promoting these activities, we are contributing to the digitalization and business reform of companies and the digital transformation of Japan. We also make it possible to smoothly manage and operate pay-as-you-go charging by handling products via our subscription management portal, iKAZUCHI, and by offering products, information, and technological support for products and solutions as a distributor. Not only are we supporting business and education and expanding our support system, but also more partner companies and Small and Medium Business(es) in Japan will receive our services by responding to the existing trading infrastructure according to Japanese business practices. We are scheduled to exhibit the products offered by Lookout at DIS World 2023 in Himeji, which is a comprehensive ICT exhibition event to be held by DIS over 2 days from November 8, 2023.
