As the use of cloud-related services expands under the influence of diversifying working practices and new coronavirus, it has become rather hard for traditional security models to address risks adequately.
As container and cloud adoption accelerates, most companies have difficulty in visualizing their containers and cloud environments. New attack targets are created by the interaction between the cloud’s three factors of workload, service, and identity.

According to a survey conducted by Gartner, “Nearly all causes of cyberattacks on cloud services can be attributed to mistakes made by users during installation and configuration.” It also estimated that by 2023 at least 99% of cloud security failures will be attributable to user negligence. However, a container is essentially a black box, and its contents cannot be seen easily and change quite rapidly. According to the “Report of cloud native security and utilization for 2023” published by Sysdig, 72% of containers are set up and running in less than five minutes.
