Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto, hereafter referred to as DIS) has concluded a distributorship agreement with Sysdig, Inc. (Head Office: California, USA, CEO: Suresh Vasudevan, hereafter referred to as Sysdig), which is a leading company in the field of integrated container and cloud security. Sysdig and DIS will support companies by helping them to prevent security intrusions economically and efficiently through collaboration between the two companies to sell solutions supplied by Sysdig in the Japanese market.

As the use of cloud-related services expands under the influence of diversifying working practices and new coronavirus, it has become rather hard for traditional security models to address risks adequately.
As container and cloud adoption accelerates, most companies have difficulty in visualizing their containers and cloud environments. New attack targets are created by the interaction between the cloud’s three factors of workload, service, and identity.

According to a survey conducted by Gartner, “Nearly all causes of cyberattacks on cloud services can be attributed to mistakes made by users during installation and configuration.” It also estimated that by 2023 at least 99% of cloud security failures will be attributable to user negligence. However, a container is essentially a black box, and its contents cannot be seen easily and change quite rapidly. According to the “Report of cloud native security and utilization for 2023” published by Sysdig, 72% of containers are set up and running in less than five minutes. This makes it difficult for traditional security tools to confirm the inside of a container, process the dynamic properties of Kubernetes, and scale over an entire multicloud.  One-of-a-kind security tools cannot keep pace with the speed of standardization and innovation realized by open source software.

Sysdig Inc., a leading company in cloud and container security, adopts a comprehensive approach to cloud security by protecting the entire software development cycle from the development source to the execution environment by making the best use of its in-depth knowledge of runtime
At the same time, Sysdig Inc. supports security teams in protecting against cyber security attacks by monitoring workload, user activity, and cloud activity as the creator of Falco, which is an open source standard for detection and response in the cloud. The advanced ability to detect threats available from Sysdig helps companies improve their security systems by allowing them to focus on vulnerabilities, design mistakes, and compliance gaps.
In 2022, Sysdig acquired double the number of new customers compared with 2021 thanks to the continued adoption of cloud and container security platforms. In addition, it is expanding its business globally and now offers its services to customers in more than 40 countries.

DIS will deliver solutions provided by Sysdig to customers across the country through about 19,000 dealers by means of a community-based sales system established in about 90 sales bases that cover every corner of the country, in addition to offering added value including technological assistance. By promoting these activities, we will support digitalization efforts and business reforms of Japanese companies and contribute to the digital transformation of Japanese society. At the same time, we not only offer the information and technology support vital to a company’s digitalization efforts but also enable the smooth management and operation of a pay-as-you-go billing system by marketing Sysdig’s products through our subscription management portal, “iKAZUCHI.” We will extend our services to even more partner companies and small- and medium-sized firms in Japan by developing in a way best suited to Japanese business practices.

Suresh Vasudevan, CEO of Sysdig Inc., said, “We are very pleased to have concluded a distributorship agreement with DIS. Companies throughout Japan are adopting containers, Kubernetes, and server-less technology, and building new applications and revenue sources. When a company migrates to the latest infrastructure, it needs a security approach applicable to the speed, scale, and complexity of the cloud.  Some of our largest customers are Japanese companies, and we promise to support them and thus allow them to handle cloud-native workloads with confidence. We look forward to working with DIS to cover the whole of Japan with the help of a solid partner network suited to the Japanese market built by DIS.”

Loris Degioanni, who is the CTO and founder of Sysdig Inc. and the author of Wireshark, said, “All companies and organizations of all sizes that adopted the cloud face important issues when they adapt themselves to a world in which the cloud plays the central role. Organizations need security solutions that focus on real-time threat detection throughout the software development process.  Equipped with a deep insight into runtime, Sysdig is the only company that can solve problems related to cloud security. We are very pleased to offer Sysdig products to Japanese customers in cooperation with DIS.”

Hiroyuki Matsumoto, President of DIS, said, “Under circumstances where a company is rapidly responding to digital transformation and reforming working practices and the introduction of teleworking and the utilization of cloud services is expanding, it has become important to strengthen not only measures against security risks including information leakage but also those related to network environments. We help to strengthen the problem-solving capability of our Japanese customers whatever their size by providing Sysdig’s security platforms that can comprehensively deal with such risks as vulnerabilities, design mistakes, excessive permission, and runtime threats and abnormalities, by covering containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure in a cross-sectoral manner.

On Sysdig Inc.
Sysdig Inc. promotes cloud and container security standardization. The company became the front-runner in the detection of and response to runtime threats in a cloud native environment thanks to its creation of Falco and Sysdig-oss as the open source standard as well as the main component of Sysdig’s platform. Sysdig’s platform allows users to discover vulnerabilities and prioritize software, detect and address threats, detect design mistakes (CSPM: Computer System Performance Monitoring), excessive authority checks (CIEM: Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management), and manage compliance. It allows customers to eliminate not only dead areas but also guesswork and black boxes by visualizing the risks involved in the process from the development of sources to their implementation in containers, Kubernetes, and cloud services. Sysdig was founded in 2013 and headquartered in California in the U.S. Since its foundation, Sysdig’s products have been adopted not only by most innovative companies in the world but also by major Japanese companies. Sysdig’s Japanese company is Sysdig Japan GK. (Website : https://sysdig.jp/)(This website is written in Japanese.)
