Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as DIS; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto) has concluded a distributorship agreement with Seagate Technology Holdings plc (hereinafter referred to as Seagate; NASDAQ: STX), and has started to sell hard disc drives and storage solutions supplied by Seagate in the Japanese market. In partnership with Seagate, DIS will introduce innovative, simple, and modular type systems for the construction of corporate data storage systems that meet the needs of public and private Cloud providers, service providers, and existing data centers in the Japanese market.

With the rapid development of digital technology, the volume of data produced worldwide is increasing exponentially due to the expansion of endpoints like IoT devices that connect everything and connected cars. Current storage systems cannot keep pace with the increasing amount of data due to its explosive rate of increase. According to the Rethink Data Report published by Seagate, Japan’s corporate data is predicted to increase at 36.8% per annum. However, only 24% of the data available to Japanese companies is utilized, showing the lowest utilization rate of all the countries surveyed. For data analysis, accuracy increases as rate of data utilization increases, and accurate data allows for optimal management decision making. Companies may be forced into a disadvantageous position competition-wise if they have too much data that can be neither stored nor utilized.
