Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd.
Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd., hereafter referred to as DIS, (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto) has concluded a distributorship agreement for the Japanese market with Armis <https://www.armis.com/>, which is a leading company in the field of asset visualization and security. Armis products are scheduled to be launched in November 2022 through iDATEN, which is one of the largest e-commerce (BtoB) systems in Japan’s IT industry and operated by DIS.
Growing demand for vulnerability diagnostic tool
A wide variety of devices are currently being used in companies. They include the PCs that companies traditionally supply to their employees, devices such as employees’ personal smartphones and tablets under a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, and also printers, security cameras, and smart TVs installed in meeting rooms. While devices have been increasing at an unprecedented pace in the past 10 years, 90% have been introduced without established controls. Unfortunately, as the number of networked devices increases and as the world becomes more convenient, cyberattack methods and opportunities for hacking also increase.
Providing device information detected and classified by overwhelming numbers of profiles
To meet the need for a new way of managing IT devices, Armis can both discover all devices automatically and detect and classify them without relying on agents and mobile device management (MDM) by analyzing traffic in the network. At present, Armis is tracking more than two billion devices globally and possesses more than 15 million device profiles. In addition to “visualizing” vulnerability and risks with the help of contexts obtained from detailed device information, Armis reports anomalous behavior in real time thereby allowing IT and security managers to decide their next move with confidence. In addition, they can not only work together easily with third parties, such as firewall and network access control (NAC), but also take appropriate measures such as blocking traffic and isolating specific devices from the network.
On the occasion of this announcement, Tetsuya Akiya, Country Manager Japan at Armis said: “We feel truly honored to have concluded a partnership with Daiwabo Information System, which is one of the largest distributors of IT products in Japan. We entered the Japanese market in November 2021 with “Protect every aspect of IT/OT/IoT” as our mission. We expect this distributorship agreement to increase the opportunities for Japanese domestic companies to recognize and adopt our products.”
Tim Mackie, Vice President of Worldwide Channels at Armis, said: “The partnership with Daiwabo Information System is the latest addition to value distributor Armis’ global portfolio. With this agreement, Armis strengthens its commitment to progress as a channel company in the true sense of the word in the Japanese market.”
Hiroyuki Matsumoto, President of Daiwabo Information System, said: “As digitalization becomes widespread, cyberattacks affect not only IT systems but also the operational technologies that form the basis of company activities. Cyber security incidents occur in the OT environment including manufacturing plant in Japan. We help to solve problems by offering ways of visualizing connected devices and security measures to Japanese customers through solutions supplied by Armis.”
In addition, we are scheduled to exhibit solutions supplied by Armis and host seminars offered by Armis at “DIS World in Echigo Niigata with Digital Days”, which is the integrated IT exhibition that DIS will hold for two days beginning on November 16. We cordially invite all those interested in our exhibition.
