Notice of Co-Sponsorship of the 28th "Firelit Noh Play at Osaka Castle" |
August 8, 2008 |
As part of our cultural and social contribution program, Daiwabo Information System will co-sponsor the 28th "Firelit Noh Play at Osaka Castle," organized by the Yomiuri Shimbun. The "Firelit Noh Play at Osaka Castle" has been held annually since 1981. Performed against a background of the castle's keep lit up with floodlights, these plays, with their subtle and profound beauty, have become a major summer event in Osaka. This year, the 28th, will see the performance of "Kawakatsu," a new piece written by philosopher Takeshi Umehara. This year commemorates the millennium of the writing of the Tale of Genji, and "Hajitomi Tachibanakuyo," centering on Yugao, a female character in the novel, will also be performed. This year's Noh performance is anticipated to be exceptionally exciting and brilliant. |
Period: | August 27, 2008 (August 28 if it rains on the 27) |
Venue: | Nishinomaru Garden, Osaka Castle |
