Daiwabo Information System begins providing “DIS concierge service for transition from Windows Server 2003” -Supporting the business efficiency of dealers nationwide, in their transition from servers compatible with Windows Server 2003, through a special webpage - |
Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as DIS; Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Yoshihiro Nogami) has decided to provide the “DIS concierge service for transition from Windows Server 2003,” as of October 20, 2014, to support its roughly 17,000 dealers across the country in their efforts to submit proposals to small- and medium-sized companies nationwide, for replacing servers compatible with Windows Server 2003. As previously announced, Microsoft will end the support period for Windows Server 2003 on July 15, 2015, in Japan (July 14, 2015, in the U.S.), in accordance with its Support Lifecycle policy. Using servers compatible with Windows Server 2003 after the support period ends involves security risks, in addition to the obsolescence of related hardware due to the fact that servers compatible with Windows Server 2003 were mostly introduced more than five years ago. Replacing Windows Server 2003-compatible servers with those compatible with the latest software, such as Windows Server 2012 R2, and transitioning existing systems to the rapidly expanding cloud services, are becoming increasingly prevalent in the market, in order to address the issues above. At the same time, reviews of in-company business continuity plans (BCPs) and security measures are becoming increasingly common. We have launched the “DIS concierge service for transition from Windows Server 2003” to respond to these needs, and to help our dealers in their efforts to make proposals to facilitate the replacement of servers compatible with Windows Server 2003, through our 90 sales bases across the country. Specifically, we provide information on relevant server transition scenarios, and on products and services made available through such transition, in response to inquiries we receive from our dealers, through such means as on-site consultation for those involved in server transition, information about transition to cloud service (Microsoft Azure), and business solution information provided through iDATEN, our portal site for the business to business (BtoB) system. We will continue proposing solutions that utilize such cloud services as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365, to satisfy the diverse needs of our customers in the future. 【For inquiries regarding this announcement, please contact the following representatives.】 【Customer contact】 Webpage of the “DIS concierge service for the transition from Windows Server 2003” URL: http://www.idaten.ne.jp/portal/page/out/h09/sv-migr/index.html (Concluded) (Inquiries no longer accepted.)
