| DIS Acquires ISO14001 Certification |
| Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (abbreviated "DIS"; head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Hirokazu Matsumoto) recently acquired under the internationally environmental management system standard ISO 14001 at its Procurement & Sales Promotion Division, Sales Planning Department, and Solution Business Promotion Department (based in Tokyo). |
| For some time DIS
has included environmental protection as part of
its basic policy. We have promoted a paperless
working environment by adopting computerizing our
sales management systems (DIS-NET) and circulatory
communications systems and aggressively promoting
the use of recycled paper for business cards and
document copies. In keeping with our policy, we recently obtained ISO 14001 certification at our Procurement & Sales Promotion Division, Sales Planning Department, and Solution Business Promotion Department (Tokyo), which collectively handle the procurement, planning, and sales facets of our distribution enterprise. From such world-scale problems as global warming, destruction of the ozone layer, and depletion of resources to such localized problems as strained waste treatment facilities, dioxins, and environmental hormones, environmental problems are an enormous concern for society and how companies will grapple with them is a major issue. DIS will continue to deal with environmental problems aggressively as part of its responsibility to society as a business. We will continue to improve our environmental management systems and we will take the initiative regarding global environmental conservation and environmental load reduction by striving to acquire ISO 14001 certification at all of our business locations.
