"Pasocon no Yakata" (Computer Plaza ZOA)
Opens in Tsuruga on November 2

DIS Nagashima Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Numazu, Capital value: 100 million yen, President and CEO: Yutaka Nagashima), which operates computer superstores as a group member under Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, CEO: Mitsuru Yokoyama, President), opened its 27th store - Computer Plaza ZOA in Tsuruga - on November 2.

The new Computer Plaza in Tsuruga follows the stores opened in Kanazawa, Toyama, and Fukui as stores opened in the Hokuriku region. The Tsuruga store is a suburban superstore provided with a selling-area floor space of approximately 660 square meters and parking spaces for 36 cars.

The city of Tsuruga has a population of 67,000 people and is the third largest city in Fukui Prefecture. It is located in the center of the Reinan region, which is adjacent to the city of Obama and the town of Mihama, and is estimated to serve a consumer population of 200,000 people. Currently the Reinan region has household electronics and electric appliance stores but does not have a dedicated computer store. It is believed that the new Tsuruga store will recover customers that have been going to Kyoto and Osaka for their computer needs. The new store is located in a section of Tsuruga called Kizaki, which includes the Tsuruga city hall, the Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Institute's Atom Plaza, a plant run by a major textile manufacturer, and a seafood market. It is expected that the area will continue to develop and become a larger market for our products.

Although the store is approximately three kilometers from the Tsuruga train station, it is located adjacent to National Route 27 close to a men's clothing store and there are electric appliance stores and various other suburban stores concentrated along the same route. Being equipped with a large parking lot, it is believed that the Tsuruga store will have a substantial ability to attract customers.

The Tsuruga store aims to achieve a yearly sales volume of 1.5 billion yen.

DIS Nagashima plans to open at least one more store in 2002 and its midterm plan is to expand its presence throughout Japan.
