DIS INFORMATION EQUIPMENT SALES CO., LTD. (Head office: Osaka; Capital: 400 million yen; CEO: Shigeharu Sugawara), a group company of DAIWABO INFORMATION SYSTEM CO., LTD. (Head Office: Osaka; CEO: Mitsuru Yokoyama), opened its Akita Shop on Friday June 30, 2000, as the group's 10th general PC shop. Its was named "Pasocon no Yakata." |
This is actually the second "Pasocon no Yakata" opened, following the Sendai shop in the Tohoku region. It has a floor space of about 1,100 square yards including an area of about 800 square yards for the store space. Since it is a suburban PC shop, it provides parking for 40 cars. Akita is the third largest city in the Tohoku region. The population of the city is about 310,000. PC shops are concentrated on the east side of Akita Station, but there is no full-scale PC shop in the southwest district where the "Pasocon no Yakata" Akita shop opened. Many consumers visit this area because there is a government office quarter on the west side of Akita Station, including the Akita Prefectural Office and Akita City Hall. In addition, there is a major supermarket nearby, which is expected to further develop in future. In spite of being 3 kilometers from Akita station, this suburban shop area also features the fishing shop "Jyosyu-ya" and the sporting goods shop "Himalaya" along National Highway Rute 7. Moreover, the Akita shop will be attractive to motorists because of its ample parking area, which is difficult to find and expensive in Japan's city downtown. The Akita shop aims to reach sales of 1.5 billion yen. Furthermore, "Pasocon no Yakata" plans to establish new shops in 2000 and aims at "Development of 15 shops and annual sales of 15 billion yen" as its mid-term plan.
