Notice of co-sponsorship of the exhibition: “Miracle - Great French Paintings from the Clark: Renoir and Masterpieces of French Painting”
May 20, 2013

As part of our cultural and social contribution program, Daiwabo Information System will co-sponsor the exhibition: “Miracle - Great French Paintings from the Clark: Renoir and Masterpieces of French Painting”, hosted by the Yomiuri Shimbun.

The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in the USA has been best known for its collection of Western paintings from the Renaissance to the 19th century, since its opening in 1955 . Its collection includes a host of French masterpieces, as well as sculptures, other paintings, sketches, photographs, and works of decorative art including silverware and porcelain.

Tadao Ando, an internationally-acclaimed Japanese architect, has been commissioned for extensive expansion and enhancement of the Clark since 2010 . Taking advantage of this situation, the Clark organized a world tour of exhibiting paintings centering on exceptional works by artists of the Impressionist school, and the exhibit finally arrived in Japan in 2013. Masterpieces by Renoir, centerpieces of the exhibition, are joined by works by Monet, Degas, and Pissarro. Visitors will be treated to a treasure chest of 73 priceless French masterpieces, on view here for the first time.
