| Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (DIS) and Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd. today announced the establishment of "Windows® Slate Solution Center" within DIS to support their Sales partners (approximately 17,000 companies) starting from October 1, 2011 for the purpose of accelerating ICT utilization in Small, Mid-sized business and Education segment.
With its advantage in portability, best suited form factor and intuitive operability of the device, Slate PC has been attracting attention not only in Consumer PC market but also in Commercial market. Windows 7 based Slate PC is firing up the discussions of slate device deployment in corporate by having strong affinity to corporate information systems and robust security, and being an ideal solution that coordinates with rapidly growing cloud services to enable flexible working style and cost reduction.
To respond to increasing demand in the market, DIS and Microsoft Japan have mutually agreed to establish "Windows Slate Solution Center" and help driving hardware sales by generating Windows 7 based Slate PC utilization and solution scenario and providing variety of device options to Small, Mid-sized business and Education customers through DIS's 87 nationwide sales offices. The parties are aiming to stimulate relatively low ICT usage in SMB and Education Market through the collaboration.
By gathering both parties' engineering and sales know-hows into "Windows Slate Solution Center", DIS and Microsoft Japan aim to achieve Windows 7 based slate PC sales of 700,000 units in 3 years as a result of these efforts.
Expected roles and functions of each party are as follows;
●Set up an exclusive Consultation Service for nationwide Sales Partners (approximately 17,000 companies)
●Provide consulting based on individual cases and business needs
Selecting optimum devices and applications from a variety of products
Proposing customized services that offer added value to customers
Consider development of Application implementation / Touch technology
●Development of specialized partners and Awareness campaign through Seminars
●Generate usage scenarios and solutions leveraging Microsoft products
●Provide Sales support and Technical support of Windows 7
●Support establishment of usage scenarios and solutions leveraging Microsoft products
