Daiwabo Information System and Intel have joined hands to expand the use of environmentally friendly computers
- Promoting sales of computer products with excellent power efficiency for "Green IT" -

Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as DIS, head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Hirokazu Matsumoto) and Intel Corporation (hereafter referred to as Intel, Tokyo head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazumasa Yoshida) have agreed to combine to spread the use of low power consumption computer products, such as PCs and servers, which contribute to reducing the environmental load.

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to find ways to deal with environmental issues. As this trend has grown, the promotion of green IT by introducing energy saving IT devices and reducing the environmental load through efficient IT utilization has gained momentum. DIS and Intel provided the following comments on the alliance.

Hirokazu Matsumoto, President of DIS, said, "DIS is very pleased with the alliance between DIS and Intel. DIS sells IT-related products including PCs and servers, and has an approximately 8.6 %(*1) share of PC sales and an approximately 11.5 %(*2) share of PC server sales in the domestic market. We consider it our company's duty to sell environmentally friendly products actively. The alliance with Intel is very effective in promoting computer products incorporating Intel's state-of-the-art microprocessors, which offer both high performance and the ability to reduce power consumption. DIS will continue making companywide efforts to spread green IT."

Kazumasa Yoshida, Co-President of Intel Corporation, said, "Intel is very pleased with the alliance with Daiwabo Information System. Currently, Intel is making companywide efforts to develop environmentally friendly technologies and products. For example, we provide processors based on the advanced 45 nm production process that satisfies the demand for enhanced performance and reduced power consumption, and for products that contain neither lead nor halogen, thus demonstrating our attitude toward reducing adverse effects on the environment. Because the aim of this alliance is to expand the use of computer products that incorporate Intel's environmentally friendly processors including vPro™ Technology Intel® Core™ 2 processors, our alliance with Daiwabo Information System is very effective both in terms of developing the Japanese business market and in helping to overcome environmental issues.
