Daiwabo Information System expands its partnership in cloud computing with VMware
- Strengthening the sales strategy for the domestic cloud service market centered on mobile device management and virtual desktop infrastructure -
Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as DIS: Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Yoshihiro Nogami) expands its partnership with VMware K.K. (hereafter referred to as VMware: Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Jon Robertson) and begins offering VMware’s infrastructure technology and cloud service to domestic data center operators and cloud service providers as a monthly subscription service.

■On the expansion of the partnership in cloud computing

As a VMware authorized distributor (※1), DIS has been offering VMware’s technology to VMware authorized resellers (solution providers) by combining it with products and services in various ways, with additional planning, design, and marketing industry- leading virtualization and cloud solutions.
On the expansion of the partnership in cloud computing
It is important to note that a rapid shift is currently ongoing at companies, from owning hardware and software to utilizing monthly pay-as-you-go cloud services that allow them to use only the amount of service required, and pay only for the amount used. In fact, company cloud service utilization is growing ever more popular, regardless of the industry sector and business category.
In addition to being a VMware authorized distributor, DIS has become a VMware authorized aggregator (※2). As a VMware authorized aggregator, DIS markets the VMware Cloud Provider Program, which makes VMware’s infrastructure technology available for a monthly pay-as-you-go charge (or based on a rental license); as well as the Managed Service Provider Program (hereafter referred to as MSP), designed to provide user companies with the ability to incorporate enterprise mobile management and cloud services, such as virtual desktop infrastructure, into their own services, to build their own high value-added products. Therefore, DIS now can respond to a variety of needs, not only those of VMware authorized resellers but also those of data center operators and cloud service providers.

(※1) VMware authorized distributor:
A VMware authorized distributor is a company authorized to offer VMware’s products to VMware authorized resellers. It provides resellers with tools and support that they need for successful business expansion, in addition to a wide variety of added services and extended VMware functions.
(※2) VMware authorized aggregator:
A VMware authorized aggregator is a company authorized to offer VMware’s products and services to cloud providers. Like an authorized distributor, it provides advice on the appropriate utilization of software licensing, in addition to supporting the business of cloud providers.

■Sales strategy and sales system of DIS

Of the two programs DIS is going to begin marketing, DIS will focus on MSP designed for cloud service in great demand, especially from small- and medium-sized companies, to strengthen its sales strategy for cloud service in the domestic market. DIS has stationed staff members, dedicated to business utilizing VMware, in the Tokyo metropolitan area, which has the greatest demand, as well as sales specialists equipped with expert knowledge of VMware in other regions, to cover every corner of Japan.
At the same time, DIS offers the Customers Experience Center & Executive Briefing Room, or CEC for short, which it opened in July 2016 in the Sumitomo Oimachi Building (South), Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, for corporate customers, as a place to propose and experience solutions.

The Managed Service Provider Program is designed to enable partners to use the infrastructure technology of VMware on a monthly subscription basis.
Based on VMware cloud service license subscription, it constructs a cloud solution that utilizes SaaS technology, and has flexible options for end-user offers. Managed service providers can thus offer mobility, desk top, and infrastructure service.
